Requesting Guidelines

Well, seems the site is starting to generate enough traffic and requests that I'll go ahead and pop one of these up. If you'd like to make a request, please take a quick glance at this page so you can better help me help you.

  1. How to make a request.

Requests can be made using the email address provided in the Contact section of the site, and your prefered email program. The email subject isn't important, since I read all of the site's email (I don't get SPAM, mwahaha), but labeling it something like "Doujinshi Request" will ensure it doesn't get swallowed by my monsterous SPAM filter.

  2. Please provide as much information as possible.

You can see what I own and covers of what I own on the Master List, which is linked in the main Doujinshi page. It's a pretty massive list, I know, but the more I know about what you want, the more likely you are to get it. The best thing to provide to me is the Series (of course), Title, and Circle of the doujinshi you are requesting.

  3. I am no longer accepting pairing requests, and here's why.

I was allowing these before, because in general you guys have been really cool about taking whatever I end up picking for you. Unfortunately, some of you haven't. (You know who you are.) This creates negativity that I just don't want to invite anymore, so I won't be accepting them. If you want a specific pairing, please use the Master List and your browser's search function, find a cover you think looks neat, and request specifically that doujinshi. Sorry, guys, you know how much I hate drama.

  4. Don't be an asshat.

This doesn't mean you have to kiss my ass or do a little dance to amuse me. I'm offering this service, so I won't make you beg. Just use the Golden Rule when requesting: "Would I appreciate it if someone talked to me like this?"
If you're a jerk, I'll ignore you and probably block your emails for any future requests.

  5. Be PATIENT when you request something.

In general, I turn requests around pretty fast, typically within about 24 hours of receiving them, but sometimes it might take me longer because I have something else going on in my life. Don't email me every hour asking me if I scanned it yet. Is it on the site? There's the answer.

The request system is being changed! Please read below to see the new request system.

    Questions

    1. Is there a limit to how many doujinshi I can request?

Yes. Starting January 25th 2010, requests will be limited to 5 books per person, and 5 people per cycle.

    2. What is a cycle?

A "cycle" is how long it takes me to complete the current requests I have. The amount of time in a cycle will vary depending on how many books are requested and how large those books are, as well as what I have going on. If I have a lot of free time and the requests are small in number and/or size, it may only be a couple days. If the requests are large or I'm busy, it could take a month.

    3. What if I request after a cycle is closed?

If you request after a cycle has filled up, your request will be saved until the next available spot in a cycle. Cycle spots are first come, first serve.

    4. How will I know if my request is in a cycle?

We will be adding a new link in the Doujinshi section above the Master Lists with a complete list of the requests in the current cycle. If your request(s) is there, you're in the cycle. If it's not, keep checking back to see if it has been added.

    5. If I have requested once, can I request again?

Yes, you may request again. However each person is only allowed one request per cycle, so if you make a second request before a current cycle is closed, your request will be saved for the next available cycle.

    6. Can I request books that you don't own?

Well, I guess you technically COULD, but you're just wasting your time. If I don't have it, I don't have it and it's not going to magically appear because you requested it. It really boggles the mind why someone would request a very specific doujinshi without first checking the Master List to see if it's actually there.
